Our Lionheads are out of Pridelands, Cimmaron, and DJ'S Lines and include Wetzel, TNT, Statler's, Linder's, Hellenic Stud from England, and Swedish Imports in their backgrounds.
We are breeding primarily Purebred Lionheads. At times we will have hybrids to improve certain traits such as better type or smaller size.
Our goals are to breed for excellent type, adult manes, and good temperaments along with purifying the colors. We are using the current proposed Lionhead Working Standard. I have recently started learning about color genetics. It is a very interesting subject and the Lionheads have been great in showing me examples of what different colors look like. Now I am using that information to create lines of some of the colors or color families included in the current four certificates of development; Black, Tortoise, Shaded (Siamese Sable and Sable Point), Chestnut Agouti and Ruby-Eyed White. I will be working on developing a seperate dilute line with Blue, Blue Tortoise, and Opal.
